Senior Field Service Technician - NJ/NYC Metro Area
Requirements:

3 years work experience for a manufacturer or reseller performing repairs on Mimaki, Mutoh, Roland or similar large format Inkjet printers printers

Must hold manufacturer repair certifications on at least one brand of large format inkjet printer

Experience troubleshooting and repairing Vinyl Cutting Plotters

Experience installing and troubleshooting RIP products from at least one of the following manufacturers: Onyx, Wasatch, SAI, Ergosoft or Caldera

Able to perform basic file creation and modification in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop

Familiarity with general Sign Shop/Graphics Studio workflow and practices including printing, color correction, cut vinyl, mounting, laminating and banner finishing.

Valid & clean driver's license as well as reliable transportation is a must.

Able to travel up to 75%, often with overnight stays.

Must have strong ethics and work as an effective, collaborative team member.

Must be able to push/ pull/ lift/ carry 50+ pounds
Job Description:
The Field Service Technician's primary focus will be installing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining wide format inkjet equipment from Mimaki and Mutoh. These printers are used for Solvent printing, UV Curable Printing and Dye-Sublimation. A successful candidate will need to demonstrate expertise and skill in technical repairs, preventative maintenance on hardware, demonstrate proper troubleshooting skills and procedures and follow company procedures for service tickets, parts ordering and inventory controls. Experience with color profiling practices is a plus. It is important that the applicant be well organized and properly maintain their individual parts inventory as well as all tools and support equipment. Candidate will utilize websites, technical manuals, handbooks and technical publications to keep current with new equipment as well as updates to old equipment. Candidate should possess good multi-tasking skills as they will also be required to field technical support phone calls from our customers.
Whenever the candidate is not traveling or actively performing repairs, they are expect to assist in maintaining our cloud-based repository of manuals and technical documents as well as collecting useful and interesting information, photos and videos for our Blog and for forums such as Signs101. Additionally, when not traveling your assistance may be required in our Waynesboro, PA office with sample production, machine refurbishment and repairs or testing of new products.
Although some scheduling may be provided by our office manager or partners, the candidate is expected to be self-sufficient and co-ordinate directly with customers to schedule visits. You are also expected to make your own travel arrangements including booking of flights, hotel rooms and rental cars. Exceptional communication skills to provide customer with clear, concise information regarding the status of their equipment. Manage paperwork and reporting of calls and attendance in a timely basis. APC provides employees with generous profit sharing so it is expected that the successful candidate will actively seek out new service customers and report potential sales opportunities with existing customers to management. Trade show support may be required at the 2-3 shows APC attends each year.
